I first saw a segment on a Sunday Morning show about the book and about some of the families covered. I was surprised to see that the Colorado School of Mines had the book (but no longer), so I checked it out.

There are plenty of other reviews (and NYT and the WSJ that are probably behind paywalls), so I don’t feel a need to discuss a lot about it.

Page 90 – One of the couples (Natalia and Maurice) met at the Beltway Plaza Mall in Greenbelt, MD. I used to work there back in the early 1990s. Yeah, I could see how that area had gotten rougher in the last 33 years. I do miss the Three Brothers Pizza place.

Page 117 – There is a mention of a book by Samuel Stein, Capital City. I might want to look into that sometime.
